Halful

Sculpture #27 — March 2020

7 blocks, wt: 5 pounds, height: 6 1/3”, width 5 3/4”(from #2—split red color to opposite side of #1, yellow base), length 6 1/2” (from #3 half red/orange to #4 diagonal pink)

This small assembly of Oamaru Stone, acrylic paint and threaded steel dowels was created for our (Margaret’s[my wife] and mine) good friend Anne Doherty.  Anne has been very supportive of my art, has hosted us many times while visiting Vancouver, B.C. and  has been a friend for over 20 years. The title is a play on “Half Full.” Anne is one person who is always filling her cup with fun and interesting activities, travel and learning—she is trying to always fill her cup—never half empty! Each block is painted only on one-half of its surface.
