#19 Mondrian in 4-D – October 2018 $800 USD
I always admired the simplicity of Mondrian’s geometric period with his colors and black lines. This piece was a complicated construction. The block’s positions had to have a style I thought would emulate Mondrian. Blocks were painted in a predetermined pattern to make it fit my interpretation of Mondrian. This piece is 28.2 pounds and 13”x13”x8” (greatest dimension). The sculpture is Oamaru stone (New Zealand limestone), threaded steel dowels, masonry glue and acrylic paint.
